Barbara Bakal Greene

Prior to opening a private practice, Barbara was an experienced business attorney who concentrated on commercial business transactions, intellectual property issues and government contract law. She has represented universities, large technology companies, start-up companies and government contractors. The range of clients she has represented and the array of legal issues she has addressed during her twenty-five years of practice has enabled her to develop the negotiation and advocacy skills that are essential for providing clients with the best possible representation. Her practice has evolved into one which concentrates on helping individuals protect and enforce their rights and she has advocated on behalf of hundreds of clients in courthouses throughout Maryland as well as before school boards, in a Department of Juvenile Services hearing, or in the family law or juvenile courts.

Ms. Greene is a native of Baltimore and earned her law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1980. She holds a bachelor's degree in history from Washington University and is a graduate of Woodlawn High School. She is a member of the Baltimore City and Baltimore County Bar Associations, where she serves on various committees, the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys Association and the Maryland State Bar Association.

Her practice also reflects a commitment to providing legal representation to those who might not otherwise be able to afford it, and so she regularly provides counsel on behalf of clients referred by the Maryland Volunteer Lawyer's Service and the Legal Aid Society. In 2008, the Baltimore County Bar Association presented her with the Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year award. Barbara serves on the board of the Law Alumni Society of the University of Baltimore and has also volunteered as a coach and attorney-judge for the High School Mock Trial program sponsored by the Baltimore County PTA.
